Specify a default character set to use with channel allows a character set to be used. One may either select one of the supplied common character sets from the dropdown list, or type in a different one into the edit box.
Power user tip: There is a few hundred other character sets that can be used. For a full list of possible character sets. visit the master list at http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets . From that list, get the "MIBenum" number for the character set that you want, and enter that MIBenum number into this edit box.
