Autoupdate Tab
This dialog sets the behaviour for automatically updating due Plucker channels at the specified time.
There are 4 possible behaviours:
- Never autoupdate This turns off autoupdating. Channels will only update, when one of the Update channel menu items (or
equivalent toolbar buttons) are pressed on the Main Dialog .
- Update any channel as soon as it becomes due While Plucker Desktop is running, as soon as a channel becomes due, Plucker Desktop will update the channel that
is due.
- Off-peak mode Channels aren't updated immediately, but instead added to a queue of channels to update. When Plucker Desktop is running, if the current time is
between the hours specified, any due channels are updated. This feature is most useful for those who get a cheaper Internet access rate by connecting during an off-peak time.
- Autoupdate any due channels each time I press my handheld's Sync button will update any due channels each time the handheld is placed in its cradle and the
sync button pressed.
The Precision control allows you to enter the interval (in minutes) between comparing the current datetime to the channel's due dates, as well as checking if
the Hour to update channels has been reached. For example, if you set the precision to 5 minutes, the Plucker Desktop will check every minutes whether it should
automatically update something.
Beginner tip: Autoupdate will only during the times that the Plucker Desktop application is currently running.
